October 2017 Minutes

The meeting was opened by President Harold Forbes @ 7:00 with the Pledge to the Flag followed by a short prayer given by Village Clerk Lynn Duke. Others present were: Trustees Vern Shapland, Dennis Manson, Wm Curtis, Glen Netherton, Mario Martinez and Angel Benninger. Both Maintenance Supervisors were absent. Ford County Sheriff’s Rep was in attendance as well as guests Don Collins and Debi Howard.

The minutes from the previous meeting were read by the Clerk. Hearing no additions or corrections, Vern Shapland made the motion to accept the minutes as presented, seconded by Dennis Manson. Vote: 6-yes, 0-no. MC.

Guests Debi and Don were recognized. They were in attendance because of their dog that had gotten loose accidentally and it mauled a cat. There were those who threatened them with having the dog taken away and other things because they were saying it is a vicious dog. They dispute that. It is protective of their grand daughter. Those who have seen the dog being walked are not afraid of it and Clerk Duke, who is a neighbor, said it had never demonstrated any aggressiveness when they are out in their yard.. Collins and Howard have three dogs all of which are tagged and have their immunizations current.

Water Collector’s Report:

The same people every month cause problems with not paying. It has been a ritual that we chase down or call people more than once to get them to pay. The Board said that is not acceptable and should no longer happen. If people do not pay after receiving the shut-off notice, that are to be shut-off, period. We will work with most people who honestly need help and pay when they say they will but if they don’t, that’s it. Vern Shapland made motion to accept report, seconded by Glen Netherton. Vote: 6-yes, 0-no. MC.
