July 2016 - Minutes

July 12, 2016



The meeting was called to order @ 7:05 PM by President Harold Forbes with the Pledge to the Flag. Clerk Lynn Duke then gave a short prayer. Present beside President Forbes and Clerk Duke were Village Treasurer and Water Collector Judy Schall, Trustees Jimmy Moore, Glen Netherton, Wm. Curtis and Chris Dawson. Also present was Village Water Supervisor Alan Thackeray. Others present were: Jim Cook, Dennis Manson, Angel Benninger and Joe Pabian. Absent was Village Maintenance Supervisor Larry Boundy also Trustees Vern Shapland and Brian Grady.

Minutes from the last meeting were read by Clerk Duke. Hearing no additions or corrections, Jimmy Moore made a motion to accept the minutes as presented, seconded by Chris Dawson. Vote: 4-yes, 0-no. MC.


Our guests were then recognized starting with* Jim Cook, He said he was there to find out why he was being ticketed about his yard. He said he has not been able to do things as easily since his accident uptown and that he had talked with President Forbes about it and was told not to worry about it at this time. The Board said they would let J. Shelton know of their decision to forego any tickets at this time .A couple of those in attendance offered to come and help him cut wood and etc.


*Joe Pabian was next to speak and he was very unhappy about the notice he received in the mail. He was quite verbal and was asked to lower his voice. He eventually left in a huff. The Board said they would look into his complaints.

*Alan Thackeray also spoke and was also not happy about a letter he received. He also complained that his mother received one as well. It was explained to him that since she owns the property that they would both receive letters as a matter of law. Harold and Glen agreed to go and have a walk through with him to see what could be done.

Treasurer’s Report: Judy Schall



Judy presented the bills in need of payment. Hearing only a couple of questions asked and answered, Chris Dawson made the motion to pay the bills, seconded by Jimmy Moore. Roll Call Vote: J. Moore-yes, G. Netherton-yes, W. Curtis-yes and C. Dawson-yes. MC.

In Sharon’s absence, President Forbes informed the Board that the 4th of July Fundraiser made $1259.00

*Glen reported that he is waiting for two estimates from tree cutters.

Old Business

Talked to Brian Hasenaurer about the old Laundromat and he is not interested in doing anything with it. It was suggested that we contact Lee about it.

Hearing no other business to discuss, Chris Dawson made the motion to adjourn, seconded by Wm. Curtis. Vote: 4-yes, 0-no. MC.
