Paul Reitz       

Mr. Reitz was born on Aug. 28, 1942, in Champaign, a son of Albert and Ruth (Thomas) Reitz. He married Patricia Brooks on Dec. 15, 1984; she survives in Melvin.

Also surviving are four sons, Tracy (Cathy) Wagner of Fisher, Charles (Wanda) Wagner of New Bern, N.C., Barre (Julie) Wagner of Mansfield and John Wagner of Urbana.

Other survivors include eight grandchildren, Dylan, Casey, Morgan, Ryan, Kenna and Kenyon Wagner and Brette and Shelby Dow; brother-in-law, Ron (Sue) Brooks of Vero Beach, Fla.; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Launder of Normal, Joyce (Steve) Erschen of Knoxville, Tenn., and Debra (Terry) Roesch of Gibson City; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and his special dog, Boxer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; mother- and father-in-law, Joseph and Dorothy Brooks; two brothers-in-law, Joey and John Brooks; and a sister-in-law, Tina Brooks.

Paul graduated from Melvin-Sibley schools and joined the National Guard.

He farmed with his dad and wife for many years in the Melvin area. He also worked at Baltimore Air Coil in Paxton for 16 years before retiring.

Paul couldn't stay completely retired, so for the last five years he helped Joe Adams with spring planting and the fall harvest.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Melvin United Methodist Church, the Melvin Fire Department or an organization of the donor's choice.
